Banal or inane...which one is this comment?
I've written EXTENSIVELY, and provided citations, on the subject of the conflation of antisemitism with other things. If you had bothered to read my *very* considered essay on the subject (linked there), you'd know that your line of attack is both completely off base and shockingly illiterate.
I'm not 100% sure you'll be able to understand in a non-obfuscated way, but let me try.
You can be critical of Israel and not an anti-semite. But unless I know you, why should I give you the benefit of the doubt? What do I owe you, precisely? And while you keep company with, enrobe yourself in, and walk shoulder-to-shoulder with evident anti-semites, the burden of proof shifts to you, not me, to establish your bona fides.
It's like someone saying "Black men in the US are more likely to be perpetrators of violent crime." This is a fact. Do you accept this fact from me at face value, or will you need more info before deciding what I *mean* by that statement? Try it with some folks from a minority you're not in, and LMK how it goes.
In the meantime, I'll point you to the fact that you know better, and by insisting that Jews be held to a different standard are...not living up to the ideals you claim to.
